On Saturday, December 12, the Ladybots traveled to Arnold, MD to compete in the Maryland FIRST Lego League (FLL) Qualifier hosted by Anne Arundel Community College.
Fifteen teams from around the state of Maryland competed for the opportunity to advance to the state competition to be held at University Maryland Baltimore College on March 5, 2016.
The rookie all girls robotics team was determined to standout at the competition. Not only did the Ladybots sport pink digicamo team uniforms, but they also wowed the crowd in the Robot Games. The Ladybots scored the second highest score in the Robot Games, 337, scoring higher than any Woods Robotics Team ever in the Robot Games. In addition, the Ladybots received the Project Award. The 2015 FLL Trash Trek Challenge encourages participants to explore the fascinating world of trash. The Ladybots did just that. They conceived of a network designed to increase the amount of materials in the waste stream to be recycled or composted rather than sent to landfills.
The Ladybots look forward to cheering on the Owlbots and the Green Machine on January 9, 2016 when they compete in the Maryland FLL Qualifier at
Rockville Science Center, Universities at Shady Grove.
